About CCAK

The County Counselors Association of Kansas (CCAK) was founded and organized on October 14, 1994, as a voluntary association of dedicated municipal law practitioners with a vision for a statewide association for the mutual benefit and cooperation of county counselors and attorneys interested in the general betterment of municipal legal services and administration in counties of Kansas.

The CCAK is governed by a 15-member Board of Governors that is elected by, and from amongst, its regular full voting membership.  Governors are elected to three-year terms with one-third of the membership of the Board elected annually.

The officers of the CCAK consist of a President, a First Vice President, a Second Vice President, a Secretary, a Treasurer and the Immediate Past-President, who serves as an ex officio officer.  All officers, other than the Immediate Past-President, are selected by, and from amongst, the Governors of the Board at its annual meeting, and hold office for a term of one year.

The CCAK holds two regular meetings of its membership each year, an annual meeting and a mid-year meeting.  The annual meeting of the CCAK occurs in November and is held in conjunction with the annual conference of the Kansas Association of Counties. It is at the annual meeting that Governors are elected to serve on the Board.  The CCAK’s mid-year meeting is held in June.  Both meetings include a continuing legal education program approved by the Kansas Continuing Legal Education Commission.

The CCAK is an affiliate member of the Kansas Association of Counties (KAC).  As a KAC affiliate, the CCAK is represented on the KAC Governing Board and Legislative Platform, and participates in the KAC’s annual conference and educational programs.
