COFFEY COUNTY RESOLUTION NO. 543
LYON COUNTY RESOLUTION NO. 9-96
(A RESOLUTION INCREASING THE MEMBERSHIP ON LYON COUNTY RURAL FIRE DISTRICT #5 FROM THREE TO FIVE)
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Lyon County, Kansas met in due and regular session this 22nd day of February, 1996; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Coffey County, Kansas met in due and regular session this 26th day of February, 1996; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Lyon County, Kansas established Lyon County Rural Fire District #5 on April 22, 1982 covering certain portions of Lyon County; and
WHEREAS, Lyon County Rural Fire District #5 has entered into contracts with Coffey County for the fire protection of certain portions of Coffey County; and
WHEREAS, the original board of Lyon County Rural Fire District #5 was created with three (3) members; and
WHEREAS, it has been found to be in the better public interest that said board be increased from three (3) members to five (5) members with one of the members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Coffey County and four (4) of the board members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Lyon County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, ORDERED, AND ORDAINED by the Board of County Commissions of Lyon and Coffey County that the numbers of the board of directors of Lyon County Rural Fire District #5 shall be increased from three (3) members to five (5) members with one (1) member appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Coffey County and four (4) members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Lyon County.
This resolution shall be effective upon passage by both Boards of County Commissioners.
